HMDA Reporting and CRA Analytics Built Around Your Questions

Others give you reports. ComplyBI gives you possibilities.

Interactive dashboards for HMDA, CRA, Fair Lending and Section 1071, driven live from the HMDA LAR and small business lending data already in your Comply database. And when the analysis you need does not exist yet, you can ask RATA to build it — then every active ComplyBI customer can run it.

Business Intelligence for Better Compliance Decisions

Compliance officers, analysts, executives and board members get the same picture at the same time — from dashboards that read your HMDA data, CRA records and 1071 register directly out of your Comply database, rather than a spreadsheet somebody exported last quarter.

  • Dashboards, not exports

Interactive dashboards for HMDA, CRA, Fair Lending and Section 1071, driven live from the data already in Comply. No re-keying and no duplicate entry.

  • Reports that run themselves

Recurring management, committee and board reporting is automated, so the pack is ready before anyone asks for it.

  • Outliers while they are still fixable

Trends, outliers and potential compliance risks surface as they appear, rather than during an examination.

  • Geography, peers and demographics

Lending patterns by area, peer comparisons, assessment area performance and demographic data, visualised instead of tabulated.

Dashboards Built for HMDA, CRA, Fair Lending & Section 1071

Last updated: September 8, 2026

Every dashboard runs against the data already in your Comply database. No exports, no re-keying, no duplicate data entry—change the data and the dashboard changes with it.

A dashboard is hard to judge from a screenshot, because the point of one is what happens when you change the filter. For that, take a guided tour of the ComplyBI dashboards.

Where Does ComplyBI Get Its HMDA Reporting Data?

From the LAR you are already building. ComplyBI reads the Comply database directly rather than holding a second copy of it, so the reporting cycle and the dashboards cannot drift apart: correct a record for submission and every dashboard that touches it changes with it.

How is a LAR validated before it reaches a dashboard?

In Comply HMDA/CRA, before ComplyBI is involved at all. The LAR is built from your loan data, addresses are geocoded, rate spreads are calculated, and the file is run through edit checks that surface syntactical, validity and quality failures ahead of submission rather than after a regulator returns them. The transmittal sheet and the submission file come out of that same pass. The ordering matters for reporting: a dashboard built on a LAR that has not cleared its edits is measuring data you are about to change.

What does Section 1071 small business lending data look like here?

As another dataset in the same database rather than a separate system. Comply SBL (1071) captures the small business lending application register, and because ComplyBI reads that same store, 1071 data can be reported and charted alongside HMDA and CRA instead of in an isolated tool. For an institution in scope for all three, that is the difference between one regulatory reporting picture and three that have to be reconciled by hand every cycle.

What does a bank regulatory reporting cycle look like end to end?

Collect through the year, validate continuously, submit at the deadline, then analyse what you actually filed. The last stage is the one institutions most often leave until there is time for it, and it is the one an examiner opens with. ComplyBI exists for that stage: reporting on the filed data, with prior years beside it, without exporting anything into a spreadsheet that starts ageing the moment it is created.

Why Not Just Point a General BI Tool at Compliance Data?

ComplyBI is not a generic business intelligence product your compliance department has to work out how to use. It already knows what a LAR is, what a census tract is for, and which comparisons an examiner will make—because it was built on 39 years of RATA working with this data.

Whether you're…

  • preparing for an examination
  • presenting to executive management
  • responding to auditors
  • identifying lending opportunities

…ComplyBI provides the visual tools needed to make faster, more informed decisions.

Fully integrated with the Comply Suite

ComplyBI is fully integrated with the RATA Comply Suite, ensuring your dashboards and reports always reflect the most current HMDA, CRA, Fair Lending, and SBL information without duplicate data entry or manual imports.

It grows without you asking

When RATA builds a new analysis for one institution, the report definition can join the ComplyBI Report Library—where every active ComplyBI customer can run it against their own data. The product you already have keeps getting bigger.

The ComplyBI Report Library

What If the Report You Need Does Not Exist Yet?

Most compliance software hands you a fixed set of reports and leaves you to bend your question until it fits one of them. Tell us the analysis your institution actually needs instead, and RATA builds it.

  • You bring the questionThe spreadsheet you rebuild every month, or the slide the board keeps asking for.
  • RATA builds the reportAgainst the Comply database you already file from, by people who know Regulation C and Regulation BB.
  • It joins the libraryAs a definition, not a copy of anyone's data—so it runs against your numbers, and only yours.

Every active ComplyBI customer can run the reports and dashboards in the library. A question another institution thought to ask becomes a report you can run tomorrow.

The One-Page Version, for the People Who Are Not on the Call

Compliance rarely buys alone. This is ComplyBI on a single page, with real dashboards on it, for the committee member who wants to read rather than sit through a demo.

What is on it

  • HMDA vs Peer, visual total applications, market share and the approval gap against peers as headline figures, with the denial reason disparity index underneath.
  • Trend analysis multi-year approval and denial trends, volume, and average loan amount by race and ethnicity.
  • Approval gap by purpose and type your rate against the peer rate, per loan purpose, with the gap called out.
  • Where the data comes from HMDA/CRA/SBL, Fair Lending, Peer-2-Peer, DataMine, Mapping and Geocoding — one database, no exports.

Frequently Asked Questions

The five we are asked most often about ComplyBI, answered properly rather than in a sentence. If yours is not here, it is a better use of your time to ask a person.

Ask us directly
What is ComplyBI?

ComplyBI is the reporting and analytics layer of the RATA Comply Suite. It turns the HMDA, CRA, Fair Lending and Small Business Lending data already in your Comply database into interactive dashboards and board-ready reporting. It is not a generic business intelligence tool pointed at compliance data: it already knows what a LAR is, what a census tract is for, and which comparisons an examiner makes.

Which regulations does ComplyBI cover?

ComplyBI covers HMDA (Regulation C), CRA (Regulation BB), Fair Lending analysis, and Small Business Lending under Section 1071. Dashboards span application disposition, denial reasons, rate spread, demographic and geographic distribution, assessment area performance, and peer comparison.

Does ComplyBI read my live Comply data?

Yes. ComplyBI is fully integrated with the RATA Comply Suite, so your dashboards and reports always reflect the most current HMDA, CRA, Fair Lending, and SBL information without duplicate data entry or manual imports.

Who in our institution uses ComplyBI?

Compliance officers, analysts, executives, and board members all work from the same dashboards. Rather than waiting on someone to assemble a spreadsheet, each of them gets immediate access to the insights relevant to their role—from detailed disparity analysis to a single executive summary view.

What if we need a report that isn't in the standard library?

Ask us to build it. Describe the analysis you need and RATA will tell you whether it can be built and what it would involve, which is agreed with your account manager rather than quoted here. When a report is built, the definition joins the ComplyBI Report Library, where every active ComplyBI customer can run it against their own data. Report definitions are shared across the ComplyBI community; your institution's data never is.

How should you cite this page?

Where these claims come from. Everything on this page is first-party: it describes RATA’s own product. The figures are the founding year, 1987, and the four compliance programs ComplyBI reports on — HMDA, CRA, Fair Lending and Section 1071. The customer count is given as “hundreds” rather than a number, which is deliberate. No third-party statistic appears on this page, so there is no external document to cite; where this page states what a regulation requires it links to the page that quotes that regulation.
