The CFPB has released the official 2024 national HMDA peer data as of June 26, 2025. We downloaded the data and it was immediately apparent that it was different than in past years. Specifically, the Reporter Panel file was not produced for the 2024 dataset, which contains information regarding the institution's assets, LEI, RSSD ID and Other Lender Code. We inquired with the CFPB as to when that file might be available, and were eventually told that "The HMDA Reporter Panel for 2024 is unlikely to be produced as it is out of the operational scope authorized for HMDA Operations."
With the loss of the Reporter Panel file, we had to reference other data sources to attempt to fill in the pieces absent from the data. We were able to find the LEI, RSSD ID and assets for depository institutions, but have been unable to find a source for those elements for non-depository institutions. As far as the Other Lender Code, we have not found a source for that information. We undertook the process of combining the data released by the CFPB with our other sources and formatted it for use in the Comply software.
As in the past, we made sure to match all Institution IDs with the preliminary data that was released on April 3. By ensuring that the Institution IDs align with one another between these sets of data, all Peer Institution Groups created with the preliminary data will continue to work the same as before. It is the CFPB's intent to potentially release updates to the 2024 HMDA data based upon re-submissions, late submissions etc., and we intend to review the extent of any changes periodically to see if updates are warranted.
Installation of the Peer data is accomplished as follows:
Once the data is imported, you have two ways to use it depending on what you are licensed for in Comply. If you are licensed for Peer Data, then you have full use of the Peer Reports and Analysis in Comply located on the Reports ribbon. This same data can also be used in DataMine, once you have performed a full Sync of the data to populate the SSAS Data Cube with the new data. If you don't sync, you won't see this data in DataMine.
