Update on Hurricane Dorian

As we are sure you have all seen on the news, hurricane Dorian gave Florida quite a scare but in the end turned just in the nick of time. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.  Because the storm stayed off shore and the impacts of the wind were negligible we have been able to come into the office pretty much as usual over the last two days.  The storm has passed us and central Florida is now officially out of danger of the storm.  RATA Associates is now back to full business as usual.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

The forecast track for major Hurricane Dorian is showing that the eye will pass very close, if not directly over, the RATA facility in Longwood, FL. While our building is built to hurricane standards and we have a robust BCP/DRP, including redundant systems for power and internet connectivity, due to possible unknown circumstances that are out of RATA's control, there may be a period of time where phones and support are unavailable.

The Comply Auto-Updates system, as well as Comply registration services, will be down if our primary internet connection is lost. During any outage, files which require geocoding can be uploaded to the RATA support website (support.rataassociates.com). This server is co-located outside of Florida and will be unaffected by the hurricane. Files will be processed and returned via the support website until any infrastructure outages are resolved at our Longwood facility.

In preparation of the impact Dorian may have on our facility, we will be closed on Tuesday, September 3rd. Any need for closure beyond Tuesday the 3rd will be determined when roads are reopened to non-emergency traffic, and assessments are made to potential damages incurred during the storm.
